In September 2020, the BFPA was established during the Beijing Forum for the Performing Arts initiated by the NCPA. 25 performing arts institutions from 18 countries have been closely worked together, promoting deeper international exchanges and cooperations, opening new chapter of building a community with a shared future of theatres around the world.
The past year has been unusual for the performing arts industry around the world. The repeated pandemic brought challenges for the normal operations of theatres. How to deal with the crisis and how to make innovative changes have become the questions that everyone needs to think about. Our members demonstrated with their practical acts the huge power of unity and cooperation among the theatres around the world.
As the standing office of the BFPA, the Secretariat has abided by the responsibilities for the past year. Apart from promoting the cooperation among institutions, the Secretariat strives to provide high-quality services to the BFPA members, continues to expand the promotion of the BFPA through the BFPA website and the NCPA platform and sticks to daily operation and events planning. According to the evaluation for the work of the BFPA we recently got back from the members, the work of the Secretariat has been generally accepted. Your satisfaction is our greatest encouragement and will be our unremitting power to do better.
To summarize the works that have been done during the past year since establishment, and according to the BFPA Statute, the 2021 Council Meeting of the BFPA is to be held online in late October. Council members will deliberate on the first-year achievements and discuss 2022 working plan of the BFPA. As an essential part and great supporting power, your opinions are of great significance to the development of the BFPA. The Secretariat has sent email, sincerely inviting the members to send opinions and suggestions, which will be collected and reported on the Council Meeting. We are looking forward to your feedback! The Secretariat wishes to build the BFPA as a more practical and efficient platform of cooperation.
