The 2020/21 season of the Teatro Real represents an impressive artistic approach which brings together music, opera and dance. The titles of the 15 operas next season extend from the 17th century to the current day. Seven productions are from the Teatro Real: Rusalka, Peter Grimes, Lessons in Love and Violence, Norma, Viva la mamma! with two world premieres Marie and Tránsito; there are four guest productions: Un ballo in maschera, Don Giovanni, Siegfried and Tosca; and four operas in concert version: El nacimiento del Rey Sol, Elektra, Don Fernando, el emplazado and Orlando Furioso.

The dance programme brings three companies to the Teatro Real representing different choreographic and stylistic universes: the Bayerisches Staatsballet, the Compañía Nacional de Danza (Spanish National Ballet Company) and the Royal Ballet of Flanders.

In the series Voces del Real, there are five concerts: Audra McDonald, Philippe Jaroussky, Joyce DiDonato, Javier Camarena and Piotr Beczala.

Eight new shows come to the El Real Junior this season with stories for all ages. Besides, there are 18 family sessions in the Gayarre Sala related to the opera season.
