On December 22nd, the NCPA embraced its 14th anniversary. Over the past 14 years, the NCPA has adhered to the people-centred orientation, following its guiding principles "for the people, for art and for the world", and subscribing to the core values of art changing life to build an art palace close to the people and beneficial to the people.

The COVID-19 pandemic lingers on in 2021, causing live performances to be interrupted. The NCPA explores new business forms combining "online performance and live performance" so that art should always accompany the people. The NCPA will give a series of performances and activities both online and live to celebrate its 14th anniversary.

Due to the need for epidemic prevention and control, the NCPA has still adopted real-name registration on December 22nd for ticket booking and visits.

Unusually, audience members received an exquisite thanksgiving card from the staff on the 22nd. In public spaces including the North Underwater Corridor and Olive Hall, the staff dressed in costumes of the NCPA productions interacted warmly with the audience. Costumes covering opera, music, dance and drama were present, including those from The Daughter of the Party, The Railway to Tibet, The Count of Monte Cristo and Snow White.

In the newly-decorated cafe on the east side of the 1st Floor, which can be accessible by escalator, the robot Master Barista served pour-over coffee to audience members. In front of the cafe on the west side, a classic folk music quartet played an overture to the performance.

The exhibitions and sculptures located at each corner of the theatre serve as highlights on the touring route.

Stage of Glory: An Exhibition of NCPA's Achievements, situated on the 5th Floor, is a window into the history of the NCPA. The well-curated exhibition allows the audience to learn about the artistic achievements of the NCPA in the past 14 years.

Acts of Light: NCPA's Performing Arts Images, a newly-created exhibition on B1 of the Concert Hall, showcases more than 100 photos carefully selected from millions of photographic works by NCPA professional photography team over the past 14 years. The exhibits reveal the beauty of the theatre building, stage art and art humanities from a professional viewpoint.

On the occasion of its 14th anniversary, the NCPA has taken a set of measures to benefit the people during their tour in the theatrical space. Scented incense products are available in the NCPA souvenir store. Some featured cultural and creative products were sold at a 50% discount in the souvenir store. The cafes on the east and west sides offered new-style cakes, some of which were sold at a 40% discount.

On the evening, Visitors on the Snow Mountain, Beijing Symphony Orchestra's Concert for "Ringing out the Old", XIAN Xinghai and A Doll's House were put on respectively at the NCPA Opera House, Concert Hall, Theatre and Multi-functional Theatre. Besides, "A Party of Music with LAI Jiajing and NCPAO" for VIPs was held at the NCPA Taihu Art Centre on the afternoon to celebrate the 14th anniversary of NCPA.

No matter where you are, you can watch a wonderful performance on the NCPA Classical Channel, cctv.com or other media networks.

WANG Ning, President of NCPA, gave a cordial speech, "the NCPA is not only a dream stage where artists shine with their talent, but also a spiritual home and bay of heart to the audience. We will, as always, give more virtuoso performances live and online to the audience for their care and support to us."
