A gala featuring music and dance performances by the Beijing Performance & Arts Group was staged on Friday to mark the start of the 300-day countdown to the upcoming 2022 Beijing Winter Games.

The show, Meet with Glory, held at the Minorities Cultural Palace Theater in Beijing and also available on streaming sites like Youku and Tencent, featured a variety of music and dance performances as well as saw the participation of China's former Olympic winners like Gao Min and Guo Dandan.

Chinese pianist, Lang Lang, also the ambassador of China's Winter Olympic culture, staged two music works and shared the stage with a young musician suffering from autism for a rendition of Hungarian Dances No 5. Zhou Tao, the show's director, said she hopes the show will bring the upcoming games closer to audiences.
