Teatro Colón will present on all streaming platforms with a collection of official recordings restored from the original tapes.

In the words of theater director Jorge Telerman: "Teatro Colón amazes us with its shows. It is a living theater, and we put the same passion into producing each season as we do in taking care of our heritage. It is today's excellence and the splendid cultural legacy that allows us to project international recognition on which our beloved theater shines. In that sense, we are proud to present the Heritage project, which will make it possible for everyone, music lovers and the curious alike, to access our memorable moments, both present and past."

The first releases include Martha Argerich's first solo recital in 1965, at the age of 24, four months after winning the Chopin Prize in Warsaw, the 1969 version of Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, starring Teresa Berganza and Sesto Bruscantini, and directed by Bruno Bartoletti, fragments of Bellini's Norma recorded during Maria Callas' performances in Buenos Aires in 1949, the soprano Birgit Nilsson's recital in 1967 with the Permanent Orchestra of Teatro Colón, conducted by Roberto Kinsky, and the concerts given in 1972 by Horacio Salgán and his Orchestra, featuring the voices of Roberto Goyeneche and Edmundo Rivero, and Astor Piazzolla and his Conjunto 9.

The sound restoration, without compression and without added reverb or filters, rescues the original harmonics and the presence of the sound of the hall.

Upcoming editions of Heritage Collection will include the concert of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Aaron Copland on September 22, 1963, the premiere of his own works, by Leonard Bernstein and Charles Ives, the recital of tenor Peter Pears accompanied by composer Benjamin Britten on the piano, premiering works by the latter, the recording of Richard Wagner's Tristan and Isolde in 1971, with Birgit Nilsson and Jon Vickers leading the cast and conducted by Horst Stein, and the concerts of Aníbal Troilo's orchestra and the Sexteto Tango in 1972.

Some of this material will be manufactured on CD and vinyl and sold at the Teatro Colón Store.
