The Royal Opera House Muscat is excited to release the schedule of events which will be taking place over the month of February. Explore a packed schedule of activities, choose from instrumental concerts in Absolute Music on 29 January and February 12; two free admission concerts which will take place at the Royal Opera House of Musical Arts, focusing on the piano and violin as concert instruments. The artists for both these concerts are also taking masterclasses for students of music in Oman.
Over the first 10 days of February, the opera house will delve deeply into Shakespeare in alignment with the production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the main programme. ‘Play Your Dream – Exploring Shakespeare’ is a project made up of lectures, workshops, activities, and events which will bring the bard to life for readers of all ages.
The Open House on February 24 is a return to the established format of a day of activities in locations across the opera house, entitled ‘Making Instruments’, everyone is welcome to attend, to learn about the art of making music from objects and the skill in creating instruments which sing.
Towards the end of the month, the opera house launches ‘Building Bridges – Creating Community Connections’, driving an initiative to bring opera and music to a wider audience in the community, those for whom a visit to the opera house is not easy. Concerts will take place at Sultan Qaboos University Hospitals, at the Children’s Centre, and at the Autism Centre of Muscat, creating incredible moments that will inspire new minds and create lasting memories.
