With the presence of authorities from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Sodre, among others, the new building of the Sodre Schools was inaugurated, a space specially designed to enhance the training of future generations of artists and arts teachers in the country.

Located in the centre of Montevideo, at Uruguay 878, this building brings together in one place the teaching of dance, music and performing arts and the training of Art Teachers with a specialization in Dance and Music. With a modern infrastructure adapted to the needs of each discipline, it offers equipped rehearsal rooms, spaces for coexistence and an environment designed for exchange and creation. Its inauguration represents a significant advance in public artistic education in Uruguay.

With more than 3,000 m², the building represents a fundamental advance for the training of its more than 500 students and 160 teachers, consolidating the Sodre Schools as benchmarks of excellence in the teaching of ballet, contemporary dance, folklore, tango, lyrical art and teacher training, commented the director of the Sodre Schools, Natalia Sobrera.

The new headquarters allows for the centralization of activities that until now were carried out in six different locations, optimizing resources and strengthening the interaction between teachers and students.

In addition to the growth in infrastructure, the Sodre Schools have made progress in the professionalization of their programs. Tertiary and university recognitions have been obtained for various training courses, and in 2025 the academic offering will be expanded with new programs in folklore, tango and teacher training in the arts.
