The Social Security Bank (BPS) launched the mobile application of the Ibirapitá Program along with the expansion of the program to new beneficiaries, and signed cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Education and Culture, Sodre, Public Media, the Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency, and the National Secretariat of Sports. The app, specially designed for seniors, offers a variety of virtual content, entertainment, and sports, as well as providing exclusive benefits for its users.
Through Sodre, beneficiaries will be able to participate in cultural and artistic activities virtually and in person, both in Montevideo and throughout the country, promoting live and enriching experiences. "They will be able to go to dress rehearsals of our stable bodies and receive artistic interventions, among others," commented the vice president of Sodre, Claudio Aguilar.
The Ibirapitá Program, which was originally aimed at retirees over 65 years of age with incomes of up to $28,300, now expands to include a wider group, elderly pensioners, reaching over 20,000 new beneficiaries. The beneficiaries will have access to a cell phone and will enjoy the Ibirapitá Mobile Plan provided by Antel. This plan includes, for free, 10 GB of navigation, 10 GB for Vera TV, 50 minutes for calls.
