In March 2022, the Seventh NCPA Young Composer Programme was launched. A change took place in this year's programme with the target entries changed from orchestral works to concertos for Chinese bowed stringed instrument and orchestra. This means higher requirements young composers. What's more, this will further highlight the charm of Chinese musical elements and promote a large number of young competent performers to mount the international stage. Compared with the past, this year's event is attended by more individual musicians and young composition teachers in addition to students at domestic and foreign specialized institutions.
The pre-evaluation work was completed a few days ago. The works shortlisted for the Seventh NCPA Young Composer Programme are hereby announced. The jury will finish the preliminary evaluation work before February, when ten works will be selected for staging. See table below for details.
