Selected speech
With the growth of the economy and cultural demands, there has been a boom in the construction of modern theatres in China over the past 20 years. A great number of theatres with world class design and facilities have been built. In many regions, theatres have become important places for the public to appreciate elegant arts and improve their cultural literacy, and theatres themselves have become cultural landmarks of their cities. Over the 11 years since its inauguration, NCPA has been incessantly presenting excellent works of elegant arts, actively promoting the production of original works, vigorously expanding its art popularization and education programs, and extensively carrying out exchanges and cooperation between Chinese culture and foreign cultures. NCPA has actively advanced the development of performing arts in China and accumulated valuable experience in the operation and management of a theatre through its efforts.
