WANG Ning, Chairperson of the BFPA and President of the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He shared the experience that the NCPA had accumulated during the epidemic period and offered suggestions on exploring the application of science and technology in the symphonic community to promote the sustainable development of the industry. Conductors Valery Gergiev, Rudolf Buchbinder, Antonio Pappano, international representatives from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lucerne Festival, the Munich Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de France, the Cleveland Orchestra, the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela, and the Alexandrov Ensemble, as well as Chinese representatives from the China National Symphony Orchestra, the Central Conservatory of Music and the China Conservatory of Music exchanged views with each other around the two topics: “Sustainable Development of Symphonic Music” and “Orchestras & Venues: A City’s Cultural Landmark”, centering on “Composers and Works”, “Next Generation of Symphonic Music” and “Empowering Symphonic Music with Technology”. The opening ceremony and keynote speeches of the Forum were streamed on the overseas social media platform of the NCPA and the platform of the BFPA, and live streamed in both Chinese and English to the viewers worldwide on the overseas social media platforms of CCTV, such as Facebook and YouTube. Creating over 20 million clicks in total, some 300,000 overseas viewers in 39 countries and regions on six continents watched the event and made interactions.
