Melbourne Symphony Orchestra became a new member of the Beijing Forum for Performing Arts

Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has joined the Beijing Forum for Performing Arts (BFPA) as the 27th member. Established in the year 1906, MSO is a time-honored orchestra in Australia and enjoys high recognition in the art and cultural community. With close cooperation with globally renowned musicians and musical institutions, MSO reaches global audience with its performances.

As a new member, the MSO actively participates in the activities under the framework of the BFPA and introduces a concert to be involved in “Music from Around the World” presented by the BFPA. This concert was screened on July 9th globally in different languages through dozens of media platforms such as NCPA Classical Music Channel, CCTV.COM, Kuaishou, Facebook, YouTube with about 22,000,000 views. The BFPA designed a special pre-concert talk and posted real time introductions of the programme in the comment section during the screening.

Côte D'azur, a concert produced by China NCPA Orchestra, is now available on the online platform of MSO. The concert presents music by Debussy, Ravel and Saint-Saëns, featuring LÜ Jia and CHEN Sa. It is an online resources exchange of the two institutions under the framework of the BFPA. As for the cooperation, the Managing Director of the MSO Sophie Galaise delivered a video speech, praising it for introducing novel way of enjoying music to the global music lovers.
