th, conductor Eschenbach led the Verbier Festival Orchestra and trumpet player Håkan Hardenberger in performing Marsalis’ new work
Trumpet Concerto, and Brahms’
Piano Quartet in G Minor which was adapted by Schoenberg. The concert garnered over 18.53 million views. The year marks the 30
th anniversary of the founding of the Verbier Festival, witnessing it becomes one of the most important music festivals in Europe. Every July, world-renowned musicians in classical music would gather to present a wide variety of performances within two weeks.
On August 26
th, Paavo Järvi conducted the Lucerne Festival Orchestra to present the opening concert of the 2023 Lucerne Summer Festival with a rendition of Mahler’s
Symphony No. 3, which garnered over 18.86 million views. As one of the world’s top classical music festivals, the Lucerne Festival presents three seasons in a year with Summer Festival (from August to September) as the most famous one lasting for 83 years. Maestros like Karajan, Kubelik, and Abbado have all served as Music Directors of the Lucerne Festival, and numerous world’s top musicians have made memorable moments.
These concerts both premiered in China through several exclusive platforms, including NCPA Classical Music Channel and CCTV.com, further enriching the online performing and broadcasting cooperation under the framework of the BFPA this year, and providing Chinese audiences with the opportunity to enjoy the latest performances of well-known European music festivals at their homes.
